Clinical Services Lead
As part of a team-based approach to patient care and under
general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, oversees the medical
department operations and patient flow in collaboration with the Primary Care Coordinator. Provides daily scheduling, organization and
coordination of medical department support staff and ancillary support services
including laboratory, and others that may be developed. Implements or provides professional care
following established standards and practices to center patients. Implements and documents process improvement
for quality and efficiency.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Medical Assistant,
Registered Medical Assistant or achieved Assessment-Based Recognition in
Order Entry (ABR-OE) with at least 1 year of experience in a primary care
setting preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge
of Epic EMR
- Excellent
communication skills
- Ability
to inform patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and provide
instruction on proper care and treatment as directed by a provider
- Knowledge
of related accreditation and certification requirements, and all pertinent
procedures
- Ability
to perform standard clinical procedures, such as venipuncture according to
established policies and procedures
- Knowledge
of patient evaluation and triage procedures
- Ability
to schedule appointments and referrals
- Thoroughly
document all communication with patients and/or medical providers
- Ability
to maintain quality, safety, risk management, compliance and infection
control standards
- Knowledge
of and responsible for inventory management practices
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Participates
in the development, implementation and monitoring of the organizational
plan for medical operations addressing efficient use of equipment, patient
scheduling, and supervision of Medical Assistants (MA) and Medical
Assistant students.
- The responsibilities
of the Clinical Services Lead include hiring, training, and reviewing MAs,
including coordinating schedules, monitoring their performance to ensure
compliance and achievement of departmental goals.
- Assist
with or coordinate clinical functions and participate in quality
improvement and compliance activities including conducting weekly spore
testing in sterilization.
- Assist
with direct patient care and related tasks as part of the patient care
team.
- Update
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from MSDS Online to ensure latest information is
accessible.
- Monitor
supply levels and order per par level standards.
- Schedule
follow up appointments monitor patient appointments and Nurse Visits;
provide patient vouchers as indicated.
- Promote
working relationships with other departments.
- Assist
Human Resources with new employee’s onboarding requirements such as titers
and immunizations.
- May
participate in clinical outreach activities.
