Human Resource Assistant

Purpose: The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative and payroll tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resource department, as well as assist other Admin departments with miscellaneous duties.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

·         Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

·         Assists in Maintaining integrity and confidentiality of human resource files.

·         Performs clerical support to the HR department.

·         Handles payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and maintaining accurate records.

·         Assists Finance with accounts payable functions, processing and inquires as well as assists other Admin departments with misc. projects.

·         Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.

·         Assists with vetting applications, distributing and tracking offer packets and required actions, new hire orientation and collecting the necessary paperwork, and entering employee data into a computer database.

·         Write and post job ads on recruitment sites and follow-up.

·         Participate in all company-led training initiatives, workshops, seminars, and CARF-related requirements.

·         Assists with and handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

·         Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

               Salary, Exempt position $40,000

Position Requirements:

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft office software, spreadsheet preparation, and presentation skills.

·         Excellent organizational, reporting, and scheduling skills.

·         Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

·         Degree in business admin, legal, or HR preferred, but not required.

·         HR/Office admin experience is preferred.

·         Conducts self in a manner of professionalism that is conducive to recovery from mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and overall wellness, including a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety, if in recovery, from the substance for which you are in recovery.

·         Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.

·         An authentic and honest employee plays a key role in the client’s recovery.
