clients.
- Provides
direct supervision and support of people in the Pettigrew Emergency
Shelter and the HERO Addiction Recovery Program.
- Builds
rapport with shelter and HERO clients in order to support client efforts
to resolve their episode of homelessness and/or addiction.
- Monitor
residential facilities for safety.
- Providing
monitoring of client’s behaviors and consequences for clients as needed.
- Help
program participants with recovery skills; holding them accountable.
- Provide
emergency crisis counseling, problem-solving, and de-escalation
strategies to clients and staff.
- Assist
in supervision of self-administered medications.
- Maintains
situational awareness of conditions within shelter and HERO
environments, implementing de-escalation techniques as quickly as
possible when issues arise.
- Manage
crisis situations as they occur. Assist in
emergency situations such as medical emergency, weather emergency,
security, and fire emergency.
- Contact
and coordinate emergency personnel when necessary.

Accurately monitors and
reports activities of individuals in an effort to provide feedback to staff. Generate
incident reports as necessary. Document incidents using appropriate forms and
emailing appropriate personnel. Completes reports by recording observations,
information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Answer
clients and agency questions. Answer phone line at all times, returning
any messages immediately. Provide empathetic and compassionate
assistance over the phone.
- Performs
janitorial tasks, including laundry processing, trash removal, minimal
disinfecting/cleaning.
- Maintains
environment by monitoring building and surveillance cameras. Secures
premises and personnel by monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting
buildings, and access points; permitting entry/exits. Ensures operation
of equipment/cameras and reports any issues to Maintenance. (i.e. camera
malfunctions, camera outages, software malfunctions).

Conducts initial safety
inspection of individuals and their property upon admission to the facility.
- Participates
and contributes in education/training activities and staff meetings, as
schedule allows.
- Contributes
to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.
