Digital Marketing Specialist


PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This person is responsible for planning and executing digital communication and marketing efforts for the Greater Omaha Chamber. They will maintain and optimize the Chamber’s web presence, help set the editorial calendar, manage digital advertising campaigns and manage the Chamber’s communications channels to support organizational activities. This person will be an expert in our digital metrics, make strategic recommendations based on them, and build an innovative digital ecosystem. 

 

We’re looking for a Marketer who can use digital to engage audiences and propel the brand forward.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Strategy. Develop marketing strategies for Chamber events, programs and initiatives aimed at achieving the stated goals (membership, attendees, sign-ups, leads). Create a detailed marketing plan (budget and schedule by channel) for various initiatives and manage the marketing budget to maximize ROI.

2.      Email. Curate content for the Chamber newsletter and marketing emails based on various marketing plans and the editorial calendar. Pull lists for email campaigns as needed. Build and schedule emails through Constant Contact and the CRM. 

3.      Social. Manage the Chamber’s social channels. Generate, edit, publish and share content on owned social channels that promotes events/initiatives, the Omaha region and increases brand loyalty to the Chamber.

4.      Digital Advertising. Manage all digital advertising (social, search, native streaming, video) via various ad platforms including Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Spotify Ad Studio, Twitter Ads and StackAdapt. Develop and execute audience targeting and creative testing strategies. Manage campaigns to optimize results within budget.

5.      Website. Maintain Chamber websites, suggest site improvements and make content updates. Wireframe and build new landing pages as needed. Responsible for consistent, accurate/current Chamber web content. Maintain and update web content integrated from our Membership Management system. Team liaison between Chamber and website development company. Project manage some website development projects. Follow SEO best practices for web content to maintain the Chamber’s organic search visibility.

6.      Content. Manage editorial calendar based off channel and thought-leadership strategy. Negotiate acceptable resolutions when date conflicts arise. Create digital media distribution strategies for earned media and blog content. Make content recommendations designed to help achieve marketing objectives. Assist in review and editing (AP style), as needed.

7.      Tracking & Reporting. Maintain the marketing dashboard built in Google Data Studio. Pull campaign performance data from various sources to added to the dashboard and/or to create monthly reports for the executive team and various programs. Manage and deploy tags and tracking via Google Tag Manager to support campaign reporting and optimization.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Represent the Chamber at various Chamber/community functions. 

2.      Maintain ongoing relationships with staff, Chamber members, contractors and vendors.

3.      Follow Chamber protocol on allocation of projects.

4.      Assist with media conferences and special events.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

 

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Manage digital advertising budgets. All expenditures require approval of supervisor and vice president. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task multiple high-priority projects; proven organizational skills

2.      Excellent written and verbal skills

3.      Regular use of outstanding judgement and discretion

4.      Excellent team player, but also regularly works well independently

5.      Must be a great problem solver who operates within the organizations vision, mission and values and consistently keeps the brand in mind

6.      Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), CRM database applications

7.      Familiarity with website CMS and ability to operate WYSIWYG editing software

8.      Proficiency working with social media applications and ad platforms

9.      Google Analytics certification preferred and basic knowledge of web analytics and tracking

 

EDUCATION:

1.      Related work experience in digital marketing/website content management strongly encouraged.

2.      Project coordination/management experience.

Typical of office environment.  Frequent movement of meeting materials and some travel.
